It is that time of the year where you can smell it in the air, the leaves are falling, days are getting shorter , the air is getting a bit colder on the Northern hemisphere of the world , and it can only mean one thing, that Open World is just a couple of weeks away.
To those who will be their first time attending , it can be a bit overwhelming of what can I attend or what should I miss , a good friend Bjoern Rost of ours shared a link so that you can be more focused on what you are trying to learn at this years OOW, it is called Focus On Docs.
In there you will find the DBaaS (Database as a Service) which will have one of my talks at this year’s Open World and even though is not there, you can come and see me at my RMAN 12c presentation.
UGF1911 . – Oracle RMAN in Oracle Database 12c: The Next Generation
Sunday, Sep 28, 10:00 AM – 10:45 AM – Moscone South – 309
UGF1941 . – Getting Started with Database as a Service with Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c
Sunday, Sep 28, 3:30 PM – 4:15 PM – Moscone South – 307
Another thing to do, and this one if free!!! , is the Oaktable World , which is a great source of knowledge beyond of what you get to hear and see at OOW.
Also don’t miss out on Pythian’s presentation at Open World, you won’t be dissapointed !
Added After Published: If you are still lost and don’t know what sessions to see, you can All 149 Oracle ACE sessions! These are high quality sessions which you will get a lot out of !
Last but not least , OOW, is not limited to just learning, it’s also about networking and having fun, one of the coolest ( LITERALLY!!!) is the Anual Open World Swim (going for it’s 3rd year) which hopefully we will reach the 50 people mark this time around, but if that is not for you, you can join Jeff Smith in his Open World Bridge Run .
So don’t miss out on this great event and I hope to see you there 🙂
